pretty good

starts out pretty easy but that soon changes when you level up. that stat building mechanisms worked pretty well too. some more sounds and change in music would be nice though.

Benspyda responds:

Thanks for the suggestions and the review.

eh.. alright i guess

some of the enemies are kind of impossible to avoid though.

mm.. nah

got pretty boring after a while. wasnt all that spectacular.

djstaz0ne responds:

it's actionscript, i bet you can't program anything close to that

eeeh?

the main problem is that it's glitchy. after i go to see the, i think, third patient all it does is take me back to the previous screen where it says jane is happy after counseling. if it weren't for that it could be a playable game.

other than that, there's the presentation. some music would do wonders for it. if would also help if it wasnt done on... powerpoint apparently? all in all, it could be a pretty good game if it were... well, better. i took a look at your forum posts after your last submission and i agree that you should get an actual flash animator to help you out with this, cuz i dunno if this will pass.

good game

but i don't really understand the ending. i couldn't really see what <guy>'s motive was or what the previous victims had to do with anything... maybe i'd just have to play it again.

also noticed some errors in the form of jack asking about stuff he isn't supposed to know yet. it doesn't seem to flow as well as the other two. maybe those are just glitches that have yet to be addressed, i dunno.

and guys, if you're stuck, you probably have to check the dead guy near the tracks for a wallet... that's all i'm saying.

Johnnybdesign responds:

Hi BMack,
Although this can be played as a stand-alone episode, it is preferable to have JF1 & 2 fresh in mind to understand everything.

For a complete explanation, plz see my comments under Sangyerians 's review 2 pages down.
Everyting makes sense ;)

Jack is allowed to ask about stuff he doesn't know yet intentionally. This is not a glitch:
There are so many elements in the game that it would get heavy, long, boring and fastidious having to click them in the right order and having to go back to a suspect to ask a single question. The game is long enough like this and can go without this extra work for the player.
So, in order to lighten things up, I have intentionally toned it down a bit (on minor details, like the cigarette for instance). That allows for a smoother progression and doesn't change the outcome in any way.

alright

not a bad game i guess, though gets kind of old after a while and controls can be pretty unresponsive.

ha haaaa!

i beat the game AND survived the horde, and it was awesome!

hey guys, when the author says that the second boss is like king hippo from punch-out, that means he's only vulnerable when his mouth is open. take advantage of that!

but yeah good game, and i especially liked the music. more enemies and attacks and stuff would be cool, but i'm sure you've heard it all before. keep up the awesomeness.

ok

well the graphics were pretty good and the magnifying glass thing was kind of neat, though it's not like it's anything that's never been done before. also, it doesn't seem to have any real point besides just looking through stuff. the utter lack of sound was pretty disappointing too.

if this by chance doesn't pass judgement you could try expanding it into a sort of point-and-click game using the magnifying glass. you know, like a detective finding clues type deal. that could be pretty cool! something to think about, even if it does pass judgement.

Twinsabreinferno responds:

Hay thanks,
And like i said in the review before this one. I would like to incorperate this concept into some kind of mystery solving game, but for now i thought i would get my practice in with this interactive flash.

The main reason i took out the sound was because the thing would be huge in file size. I would have liked to, but i needed to cut it... Its a shame.

Thanks for the review

Holy crap

Question 106 is the most maddeningly frustrating thing I've ever tried to do! I can't get around that one curve!! Is there some kind of secret to that, besides inhuman dexterity?

Good game though. Trying to beat it has become quite the unhealthy obsession.

I kinda stopped animating. I could probably voice act some stuff though.
